New Record! Civil Aviation Transports 94.39 Million Passengers During 2026 Spring Festival Travel Rush
During the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush (February 2–March 13), China's civil aviation industry transported a cumulative total of 94.39 million passengers, with an average of 2.36 million passengers per day, representing a 4.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025. A total of 759,000 flights were operated, averaging 19,000 flights per day, up 2.7% year on year. Both passenger and flight volumes reached new record highs. During the Spring Festival holiday from February 15 to 23, the sector transported a cumulative total of 22.05 million passengers, averaging 2.45 million passengers per day, marking a 7.7% year-on-year increase, which is 3.1 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of the travel rush.
This year's Spring Festival travel rush saw various units within the civil aviation system faithfully implement the relevant requirements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council regarding Spring Festival travel rush. Adhering to the principle of safety first, they engaged in meticulous planning and deployment, strengthened dynamic analysis and judgment, optimized operations, and enhanced the passenger experience, securing a successful conclusion to the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush operations.
